ABOUT
The 2-year artistic research project transitory writing in no one’s land set out to activate temporary communities as a series of workshops in Spain, Mexico and Finland for testing new practices of situated writing in 2024-25. Our aim has been to examine how collective writing/reading as co-authorship might create conditions for inter-subjective relations and the emergence of inclusive in-between spaces or no one’s lands. The research project transitory writing in no one’s land has been
conducted by researchers Emma Cocker, Andrea Coyotzi Borja, Cordula Daus, Paula Urbano, and Lena Séraphin, and supported by the Kone foundation.
transitory writing in no one’s land is grateful for amazing encounters in 2024-25!
The research project transitory writing in no one’s land continues by preparing for sharing the practice with a printed publication that is to be published by the Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki in 2026.
This multi-lingual publication can be considered as a handbook of transitory writing. It suggests writing and reading as a co-creative act and functions as a companion and a guide to the practice by showing textual and spatial scores that can be tried out by readers. The aim is to introduce language from an embodied and situated perspective, and show how the solitary act of writing can be transformed towards an experiential practice which embeds the policies of language in an emancipatory realm.
